Pedra
Bonita is one of the main peaks of the Tijuca
National Park PNT. Located in the neighborhood
of São Conrado, with easy access, it is
known for its hang-gliding and paragliding ramps.
A one-hour hike
takes us to the summit of this mountain, at a
height of 696 meters (2100 feet). At the top you
will be rewarded with an outstanding view of Rio,
including the Pepino Beach, Pedra da Gávea,
Morro Dois Irmãos, and Ipanema Beach farther
away.
This area was cleared,
as the rest of the national park,
during the 1800’s of its natural vegetation
and was not part of the 1860’s reforestation
efforts seen in other areas of the Tijuca National
Park.
