The
remote beaches in Rio are located on the west
side of the City. These beaches can be viewed
from the Grumari beach and can only be accessed
by a hiking trail.
The trail begins in Barra de Guaratiba and takes
approximately 45 minutes to arrive at Praia do
Perigoso. From there, it is possible to extend
the hike to the summit of Tartaruga Peak.
The Praia do Meio,
or Middle Beach, trail takes approximately 90
minutes from Barra de Guaratiba and 45 minutes
from Perigoso. The beach has 200 meters of sand
for enjoyment, and is further away from the larger
crowds that go to Perigoso Beach.
After the beach, we can enjoy a local seafood
restaurant or see the sunset from an amazing viewpoint.
