This is THE destination
for long climbs in Brazil. Located only 3 hours
away from Rio, in the Três Picos State Park,
this area offers over 100 routes ranging from 1-19
pitches. The majority are free climbs that are done
in one day.
There are 4 main peaks:
the three peaks (Maior, Médio and Menor –
Big, Medium and Small) and the capacete (helmet).
The Maior Peak offers routes ranging from 8-19 pitches.
The East Face of Pico Maior (5.9) is considered
the classic route in the area. The Arco da Velha
route is a great option for those more experienced
climbers. CERJ, on Capacete, is another classic
climb in the area with 10 pitches (5.10).

The Maior Peak was first ascended in the 1946, an incredible
and brave ascension for the time.
The East face of the Maior was set up in 1974.
The Arco da Velha route was set up in 1986.
The CERJ route was set up in 1970.
