Corcovado Mountain is home
to Rio's most famous landmark: The Statue of
Christ. Do you know that
you can reach the summit by climbing its sheers
faces?
The South Face, overlooking
Lagoa (Rio’s lagoon) offers several hard
routes as well as big walls, averaging 350 meters
(1.200 feet) in extension and with most having
aid sections.
The Corcovado Summit can also
be reached by climbing the
K2 route, a moderate
exposed route and one of classic routes in Rio.
The K2 is an amazing multipitch
route that will take you to the footsteps of
the Statue of Christ (see photo).
