Aribira’s Story
Aribira is the compelling realization of the story I
started six years ago upon my expeditions to the unspoiled
beauty of West Virginia, the rugged outback of Utah,
and the mountains and backcountry of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The more outdoors destinations I discovered in the "West",
the more I realized the possibilities for offering these
rewarding experiences in one of the most beautiful,
unique, and fascinating city in the world: my hometown
of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Rio is a city of endless opportunities and unmatched
beauty. Because of the intimate knowledge and passion
we have for Rio, we are able to offer unique itineraries
that take you off the beaten track. And most important,
a fun, exciting and original way to see the city, its
national park, waterfalls, trails, peaks, and virgin
beaches.
Aribira was thus founded as a Rio de Janeiro-based climbing
business in 2003. As the years passed and with Alex
Bradford – my brother – becoming my partner,
Aribira became an experiential adventure travel company
specialized in sharing our passion for our city, and
country, with fellow residents, citizens, and travelers.
“Aribira” means over the summit in Tupi-Guarani,
a Brazilian native language. It conveys the idea that
people are more capable than they perceive themselves.
Aribira’s mission is to inspire people to achieve
their potential through adventure journeys.
All our programs are designed for private or small groups
to maximize personalized attention and responsible tourism
to the environment. Our services are offered by guides
fully fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, ASL (American
Sign Language) and LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language).
And most importantly, Aribira introduces you to our
story. The Brazilian Experience.
